Franco Columbu was an actor, writer, and athlete from Italy who did powerlifting. He was known for how well he did in sports. He was born in Ollolai, Italy, on August 7, 1941. He died in Italy on August 30, 2019, also in Ollolai. Both things happened in Italy. He first competed in a sport in a boxing ring. After that, he started to compete in lifting sports like bodybuilding and powerlifting.
He won the Mr. Olympia competition in both 1976 and 1981. The best years for him as a winner were 1976 and 1981. In addition, he has put on a series of strongman shows since 1969. He took part in the competition to find the strongest man in the world, and he came in fifth overall. Also, Francesco Columbu is not his real name; he was given that name when he was born. He also used his lips to smash the hot water bottle into pieces. Due to the injuries he got, he was unable to continue racing refrigerators and had to drop out of the competition. After thinking about everything, the judge decided that he should get a million dollars to make up for his troubles. Franco fought hard against cancer, but on August 30, 2019, it was too much for him, and he died soon after. The results of the autopsy showed that Mr. Columbo had died because of problems caused by drowning. He was swimming when he suddenly lost consciousness because of a major heart attack. He was rushed to the hospital by the police, but when he got there, the staff told his family that he had already died.
